Description
Indian River consists of four properties.
Two are on either side of the North River in Hanover and Pembroke.
To the South the Tucker Preserve in Pembroke is owned by Wildlands Trust.
To the North Luddam's Ford Park owned by the town of Hanover.
While on the east side of Elm Street you'll find the Chapman's Landing and Iron Mine Brook trails.
Just to the north at the west end of the river trails you'll find the Firehouse loop. (See the Trailforks map.)
Taken together there are over 12 miles of trails.
They range in difficulty from hard to quite easy. The easiest being the old rail bed on the north side of the river.
The hardest to the South of the river.
The Chapman's and Iron Mine Brook trails can be wet in the spring as they abut a tidal marsh. There are a lot of bridges crossing the wet spots.
As you explore here you'll see addditional un-mapped trails. They are fun too and will be added to the Trailforks Map.
Many of the trails are quite scenic, especially the ones near the river.
