8/28/21 2:00pm to 4:00pm
If you want to acquire the skills and maneuvers that will help you ride better and have more fun on your mountain bike, come join us in the UMaine De Merritt Forrest in Old Town on Saturday, August 28th. We’re leaving from the parking lot at the Old Town Elementary School, 576 Stillwater Avenue, Old Town at 2:00 PM. PR NEMBA member Emmy Monahan will lead the skills ride.
The goal of the skills ride is to help you understand mountain biking better so you can take your riding to the next level. Position and balance, operation of controls, trail awareness, direction control, and/or front or rear wheel lift may be among the skills and maneuvers that Emmy will cover. The ride will last about 2 hours. The ride is geared toward riders new to mountain biking (beginner), riders with limited off-road riding experience (novice), and riders comfortable at slower speeds on trails with roots, rocks and tight single track (intermediate). A bike helmet is mandatory.
You don't have to be a member of NEMBA to participate in the skills ride, but you must sign NEMBA's Annual Waiver. https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5ee3b647520b5/kiosk/
