CR NEMBA Volunteer Work Day

6/1/19 9:00am

On Saturday, June 1, we are sponsoring our second volunteer trail work day of the season! We'll be working on trails at the Outdoor Center as well as singletrack along the Narrow Gauge Trail (completing the unfinished work projects from our May 25 trail work day). This work will include some light trail maintenance and general post-winter cleanup such as raking, cutting encroaching brush, etc. Any additional event details will be posted on this Facebook event page so please check this page again as the date gets closer.

DATE: Saturday, June 1
MEETUP: Sugarloaf Outdoor Center
TIME: 9:00 AM to sign up and get assignments.
DURATION: Approximately 5 hours.

Please RSVP to the work day leader, Josh Tauses, at and RSVPing through this Facebook page is a great way to let your friends know you'll be attending this event.

ACTIVITIES: Complete the unfinished work projects from our May 25 trail work day (light trail maintenance and general post-winter cleanup including raking, cutting encroaching brush, etc.)

ITEMS TO BRING: Water, sturdy gloves and footwear, safety glasses/protective eyewear, insect repellent, rain gear (just in case), lunch or snacks, your kids because this is a kid-friendly event (using only light tools), tools you may have available (such as rakes, loppers, hand shears), cell phones so we can communicate issues that pop up, and your bike (there will be a group ride at the end of the work day, conditions permitting.)

Our friends at the Hostel of Maine have generously offered 50% off beer (same day, following the trail work) to CRNEMBA volunteers, ages 21+.

Additional 2019 Volunteer Trail Work Days and events can be found on our Events calendar at

Our trail work days are open to people of all ages and abilities. All that is required is enthusiasm and a willingness to work together; the club provides direction, tools, and work project locations. We need your help maintaining the beautiful trail network in Carrabassett Valley. Please join us. Trail work days are always fun and productive!

You do not have to be a member of NEMBA to take part.  You just have to love our trails and want to make them better.

Save time by signing NEMBA's once-a-year annual Trail Care Waiver if you haven't already done so.
