Topsham Pond Trail Improvements

Thanks to a generous grant from the Maine Mountain Bike Foundation, 6 Rivers NEMBA has partnered with Maine Trail Builders to make significant improvements to the Gone Fishing trail at Topsham Ponds. This project focuses on enhancing both the safety and the ride quality of the trail. The work includes clearing exposed roots, raising and smoothing the tread, and addressing long-standing drainage issues in Section 2. These upgrades will create a more sustainable surface that stands up better to weather and heavy use.

In addition, materials supplied by the Town of Topsham—repurposed from a recent road project—are being used to support the construction, reflecting a strong spirit of local collaboration. Once complete, the upgraded trail will offer a smoother, more enjoyable flow for riders, with new skill features added where terrain and space allow. The result will be a trail that better serves the local mountain biking community while preserving the natural beauty of the area.
