Castner Brook Property (Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust) Workday
Six Rivers NEMBA has partnered with Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust (CRCT) to advance the development of an accessible trail and multi-use single-track loop at Castner Brook Community Forest in Damariscotta. Over the summer and fall, CRCT has made tremendous progress on the construction of the accessible trail, which is expected to be completed soon.
In addition, CRCT is currently pursuing a grant to fund the construction of a bridge over Castner Brook, which will provide improved connectivity between the two sections of the property and enhance the overall trail experience.
To continue building momentum, Six Rivers NEMBA and CRCT are organizing a Trail Day on November 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers and community members are invited to join in for a day of hands-on work and collaboration. Planned projects include bridge building, trail hardening, and corridor widening to help improve accessibility and durability throughout the network.
This event is a great opportunity to get involved, give back to the trail community, and contribute to an exciting project that will benefit outdoor users of all abilities for years to come.
