NEMBA is a grassroots, volunteer-focused organization, and we need you to get involved and help make mountain biking better in your neck of the dirt. Volunteer with your local NEMBA chapter. Help us steward and take care of the trails we ride. It is because of your help that NEMBA is one of the leading trails organizations in New England.
NEMBA is many things to many people, all linked by a commitment to making our sport and the trails better. The most basic way to help out is to come to our events. Our Kona Bicycles MTB Adventure Series offers a great way to ride new trails and meet other riders and people involved in your chapter. If you're looking for an easy way to help out, simply come to one of our scores of Trail Care Days. You don't need any experience since our crew leaders will guide you and teach you in the process, and most trail care events are followed by lunch and a nice ride. Coming to a Trail Care Day is a great way to test the volunteer waters and meet people.
Most NEMBA Chapters have monthly meetings as well. These usually combine business with pleasure. It's at these meetings that most NEMBA activities are created, managed and executed. It's also where the key access and advocacy issues in your area are hashed out. Chapters welcome their members to come by and hear what's going on. If you've never been you a local NEMBA chapter meeting, you should check it out.
If you live and ride in eastern Massachusetts, you might consider joining the New England Mountain Bike Patrol. They attended many of our larger events to provide on-trail assistance, and they patrol a number of parks in eastern Massachusetts to assist and educate all trail users.
NEMBA is always looking for innovative people with unique skills. If you think that you have something to offer, let your chapter president know!
